Upper Echelon has an opportunity for a software tester to join an exciting company that provides cutting edge cyber security solutions to the supply chain and industrial automation sectors.
The role
We are looking for someone from an agile testing background who has a growth mindset. Experience working with web services, databases and solid knowledge of Scrum, SDLC, best practices is a must. As is relevant automation experience: C#, SQL, bash.
Technical knowledge of distributed systems e.g. message queues, microservices, containers and a background in cyber security, security testing concepts would be a plus.
Responsibilities:
A full time, permanent position with premium health insurance and on site parking based in Hamilton, an area rapidly becoming one of the major tech hubs of New Zealand! A diverse city that was voted 'New Zealand's Most Beautiful Large City 2021' by the Keep New Zealand Beautiful Awards. Being just outside Auckland, Hamilton enjoys the low house prices while still having a relatively short commute to Auckland and Tauranga.

- Requirements Analysis: Contribute in sprint planning on matters of requirements quality, testability, complexity
- Test design: Be involved in solution design to ensure adequate testability, provide input into non-functional characteristics and how to test them
- Execution: Perform manual exploratory acceptance testing of new functionality. Run prepared automation.
- Automation: Recommend areas for automation, contribute to test suites. Monitor automation pipeline for coverage.
- Triage: Capture detects into tracking system in a reproducible way, give recommendations to project team on bug impact to help with priotisation.
