Upper Echelon has two opportunities for hands-on, experienced Senior Information Security Specialists to join a growing security team within a government department dedicated to serving all of New Zealand.
The roles
As a hands-on Security Engineer, you will have extensive experience in networking, cloud, and security. You will be responsible for maintaining the configuration of security tools and services, conduct scanning and penetration testing with the ability to troubleshoot as an L3 responder.
As an Operations Specialist, you will bring a seasoned analyst's perspective to incident management and response. You will lead the L3 investigation and resolution of urgent security incidents and requests, as well as create standard operating procedures and playbooks.
Practical knowledge of NZSIM, PSR or ISO 27001 and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must for both of these roles, as you will be consulting with the government department on security best practices and developing procedures and processes to standardize security protocols.
The organisation
The security team is critical to maintaining security strategy, standards and processes. They are responsible for the security of data and information systems and services. Ensuring these are deployed, innovated, maintained and operated in line with industry best practice standards to meet security requirements. The team delivers on security operations, product, and architecture support to empower the ministry to deliver its workstream and drive the best outcomes in a secure environment.
