A Global consulting firm with long and prestigious history of serving the government sector in Wellington has recently been awarded a ten year extension to their contract with a major government department.
As a result we are seeking the services on a permanant basis of an experienced Linux or Unix Engineer. We are looking to pay around $140,000 per annum for this person.
We want someone who is proactive to work in a team of 4 people, 2 more junior Linux engineers and 1 other senior.
As part of a wider consulting team of 14 people you will be working with a very funny manager. This role offers training in areas where needed, certifications and social team days.
Also there is a role here for a decade, so there is an opportunity here for a stable job that you can grow in and move towards a management role if that is of interest, or to becoming the expert level in Linux.
Over the next year they we will be looking to standardise deployment on servers based on Ansible playbooks, also looking to retroactively assess servers to make a security assessment.
They also want to centralise patch deployment and automate if possible. Interesting projects abound!
