Upper Echelon has an opportunity to play a key role in delivering the best technical design solutions as the role of Tech Lead.

The role

Working with stakeholders such as the product owners, engineers and business owners, you’ll play a defining role in designing and building the best tech solutions for the client and their customers alike.

Understand the business goals and requirements and any technical challenges they are facing. Review current architecture and technology to recommend improvements and capability for the future while reducing technical debt.

Support and develop engineers as a mentor, not a manager. 
The person 

We want to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Awareness and understanding of agile architecture frameworks, documentation, processes, concepts, modelling and best practices.
  • Experince in a technical leadership role
  • A strong software engineering background 
  • Business acumen and great soft skills
  • Continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD)
  • Modern application architecture skills
  • Understand networks, databases
  • Cloud experience (Client is Multi Cloud - mostly Azure)

You will be successful in this role if you have a strong, hands on, technical backgrounud and experience of leading people.

Your passion and drive to learn is more important to us than what tech stack you have worked on. 

Your soft skills and the ability to communicate clearly and engage with stakeholders is paramounnt.

The Company 

The client is a major New Zealand Bank, big enough, but more agile than the Aussies. Progressive, with a high performing team and embracing new ways of working. Based in Taranaki, this role can be fully remote and based anywhere in New Zealand
